Severstal North America switches up executives positions

Severstal North America announced Monday that Saikat Dey has been appointed its new Chief Strategy and Procurement Officer, effective December 15, 2012. In this new role, Saikat will have responsibility for the strategy, business planning and purchasing functions of the company. Saikat joined Severstal as Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, in 2011, from McKinsey and Company, where he served as Associate Principal in the Global Energy and Materials practice.

Saikat Dey replaces David A. Howard, who is appointed Plant Manager, Double Eagle Steel Coating Company, and will report to the joint venture's Board of Directors.

Howard replaces Jason Pond, who is appointed Manager, Engineering and Construction, Severstal Dearborn. Jason replaces David Morris, Vice President, Engineering and Construction, who is retiring after twenty-seven years of service with the company.
