Severstal North America appoints a new vice president

Severstal North America (SNA), a division of the Russian steel producer Severstal, has announced the appointment of Saikat Dey as vice president, strategy and business development. As a key member of SNA's management team, Mr. Dey will be responsible for driving the company's business strategies in North America and leading the parent company's joint venture initiative in India, the company statement said.

Mr. Dey joins SNA from McKinsey and Company. Before McKinsey, he held positions at IBM and various technology companies.
 
"Saikat brings broad, international experience to our leadership team, and we are pleased to have him on board. We are confident his knowledge and accomplishments will contribute greatly to the further growth and development of our company, as well as optimizing existing strategic synergies and growth potential," said Sergei Kuznetsov, chief executive officer, Severstal North America.
