Scrap supplies to Ukrainian steel mills in Dec 2006

According to preliminary data for December, Ilyich received just 55,000 metric tons of scrap of the 60,000 metric tons initially projected, thus filling only 91.7 percent of the plant's scrap requirements. Supplies of scrap to Zaporizhstal in December 2006 exceeded the plant's initial monthly needs of 80,000 metric tons by 43.9 percent, totaling 115,100 metric tons. Enakievsk MZ during the same period received 59,700 metric tons of scrap - showing a 12.6 percent surplus compared to its expected requirements. Mittal Steel Kriviy Rih obtained 109,700 metric tons of scrap during the last month of 2006 -37 percent more than its planned consumption of 80,000 metric tons. Alchevsk received 51.6 percent more scrap than its planned consumption of 61,000 metric tons. The December supplies of scrap to the mill totaled 92,500 metric tons. Istil received 127,800 metric tons of scrap in December 2006, exceeding its projected requirements of 120,000 metric tons by 6.5 percent. Azovstal received 23 percent less scrap than its planned volume of deliveries for December 2006 - 60,000 metric tons. The scrap supplies to the plant totaled 46,300 metric tons. Finally, Makeevsk received 60,000 metric tons of scrap supplies in December 2006 - 15.4 percent more than its original projected needs.
