Scrap consumption in Russia, Ukraine in H1

According to operational data, the total scrap consumption increased 2.3 percent year on year to 8.27 million tons in the first half-year of 2006 in the Russian domestic market. On the other hand, during the same period of time, Ukrainian scrap collectors decreased the scrap deliveries to the domestic market by 0.8 percent to 3.072 million tons. Moreover, the export deliveries of Ukrainian scrap decreased 56.2 percent year on year to 338,400 tons in January-June of 2006.
