Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Holding has unveiled its two major Jeddah projects, Kingdom City and Kingdom Tower, the designs of which have been exposed at the international architectural exhibition Toward the First World, in Jeddah.

Kingdom City will be located 20 kilometers from the old Red Sea city of Jeddah, near King Abdulaziz International Airport, and will cover an area of seven square kilometers. Kingdom City is expected to house 80,000 residents and accommodate 250,000 visitors.

Kingdom Tower, which will be over 1,000 meters in height, is part of the Kingdom City and will form the centerpiece of the project. According to the company, the total project investment will amount to SAR 100 billion (approx. $26 billion).

On the other hand, UAE-based real estate developer Nakheel has also announced plans to build a tower that will be more than one kilometer high, as part of a $38 billion project, known as Nakheel Harbor & Tower, that will include the world's first inner city harbor.
