SAIL achieves highest-ever monthly steel sales in October

Indian state-run steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) recorded sales of 1.34 million mt in October this year, up 21 percent over the corresponding month of the previous year, according to a company statement on Thursday, November 5.

The company said that October sales were the highest-ever achieved by the company in any single month.

In October, SAIL’s crude steel production and saleable steel production grew significantly by 14 percent year on year to 1.446 million mt and 1.34 million mt, respectively.

“The company is continually posting a strong sales performance from June 2020 onwards and it is determined to sustain the trend,” SAIL chairman Anil Kumar Chowdhary said in the company statement.
