According to a report released by Rizhao Port (Group) Co., in the first three quarters of the current year the cargo throughput of Rizhao Port in China reached 153 million mt, while the gross revenue of Rizhao Port (Group) Co. for the period totaled RMB 2.611 billion ($410 million). Compared with the January-September period of 2006, these figures constitute respective increases of 191.7 percent and 366.25 percent.
In 2006, Rizhao Port was a small port with an annual cargo throughput of less than 70 million mt. According to Rizhao Port (Group) Co., for the whole of the current year the port's throughput is likely to reach 200 million mt.
