RINL to submit its expansion plan by December

Indian steel producer Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) will reportedly submit its expansion plan to Steel Ministry by December. The expansion plan will be prepared for Vizag Steel Plant (VSP) of RINL. Currently, the plant produces 3.4 million tons of hot metal per annum. This figure is planned to be increased to 5-6.8 million tons by 2009. The detailed project report for the first phase of the expansion plan regarding capacity expansion up to 5 million tons has been prepared. However a second detailed project report regarding capacity expansion up to 6.8 million tons should be submitted to Steel Ministry by December.
