Rautaruukki opens sales office in Belarus

Finnish steelmaker Rautaruukki has announced the opening of its first sales office in Belarus.

By expanding its operations to Belarus, Rautaruukki says it will be able to improve its service and to provide the potential for new partnerships.

Commenting on the expansion, Rautaruukki Construction's president Saku Sipola stated, "There is strong demand for new solutions and fast construction technologies, which we are now better placed to provide."

The construction market in Belarus has been showing strong growth. In the first half of 2008 the construction sector grew by more than 20 percent.

Currently, Rautaruukki has operations in 26 countries.
