Preliminary results of CVD review on HR products from India

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of its administrative review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order against hot rolled carbon steel flat products imported from India. The review covers Indian producer Essar Steel Ltd. The period of the review is August 1, 2004, through July 31, 2005. The DOC preliminarily determined a countervailing duty margin of 3.52 percent for Essar. This margin compares with Essar's current countervailing duty deposit rate of 16.88 percent. The Department plans to complete this review by May 2006, and the current countervailing duty deposit rate of 16.88 percent will remain in effect until the Department's final results are published in the Federal Register.
