POSCO completes processing centre in Poland

The South Korean steel producer POSCO has announced the completion of the construction of POS-PPC (POSCO-Poland Processing Center), its high-end steel processing centre in Poland, and the commencement of operations. The new processing centre, located at the special economic zone of Kobierzyce near Wroclaw, is the first to be established by POSCO in Europe.

In a statement on the issue, POSCO said that POS-PPC, which will produce 140,000 tons of high-end steel for processing and sale, will provide services to customers with its latest facilities such as its slitting line and its shearing line.

The completion of POS-PPC will allow POSCO the opportunity to expand its sales of steel sheet for automobiles and home appliances in Poland, and also to secure its sales in the Eastern European market which hold a high growth potential.
