Polish steelmaker Huta Częstochowa has resumed steelmaking as of October 18 after a six-month shutdown and it plans to return to the market at the end of October, according to media reports.
The resumption of production has come after the leasing of the company by Sunningwell International Polska on September 19 for a 12-month period. The steelmaker went into bankruptcy on September 4.
Sunningwell is reportedly planning to increase production to 600,000-650,000 mt per year, and to deliver two thirds of the products to the Polish market, whose capacity is 1.2-1.4 million mt per year.
