Peru’s iron ore production down 6.2 percent in Jan-Aug

In August this year, iron ore production in Peru amounted to 567,405 long tons (576,510 mt), increasing 35 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and down eight percent month on month, according to Peru's Energy and Mining Ministry.

In the first eight months of the current year, the country's total iron ore production was 4.5 million long tons (4.55 million mt), marking a fall of 6.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
