Peru’s iron ore production down 3.6 percent in Jan-Nov

In November 2012, iron ore production in Peru amounted to 539,103 long tons (547,753 mt), increasing 14.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up strongly compared to 139,860 long tons (142,104 mt) recorded in October 2012, according to Peru's Energy and Mining Ministry.

In the first 11 months of 2012, the country's total iron ore production was 6.05 million long tons (6.15 million mt), marking a fall of 3.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
