Panpan Group of China builds galvanised plant

YingKou Panpan Group Co. Ltd, the producer of security doors in China is set to esstablish a new hot dipped galvanized steel plant in Yingkou, Liaoning. The line will have a capacity of 200'000 mts. The plant will also involve a prepainting line with 60'000 mts capacity. Industry sources report that the production of this plant will provide feedstock for the Group's door manufacturing. The equipment will be provided by a local supplier and production at the pre-painting line is scheduled to start by end 2003. Production at the galvanized line is set to start in March 2004. The group will purchase cold rolled steel from Anshan and Benxi Iron & Steel and Shanghai Baosteel Group.
