Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports up 8.3 percent in January

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 431,545 mt in January this year, increasing by 14.6 percent compared to December and up 8.3 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in January was $112.3 million, rising by 11.6 percent month on month and up 12.3 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in January amounted to 292,477 mt, up 16.2 percent on month-on-month basis and rising by 4.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In January, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $181.5 million, increasing by 14.5 percent month on month and up 6.3 percent year on year.
