Pakistan-based ISL expands capacity with new plant

Pakistan-based flat steel manufacturer International Steels Limited (ISL) has announced that it has started production at its new plant, which includes a cold rolling mill, a pickling line and related facilities.

According to ISL’s statement, the new plant will increase its rolling capacity to one million mt per year. Total investment value of the project is PKR 5.6 billion ($46 million).

The company stated that, with this capacity expansion, it will be the largest flat steel producer in Pakistan, resulting in significant reduction in dependence on imported steel products as well as invaluable savings in foreign exchange.
