Pakistan's iron and steel imports up 136 percent in August

Pakistan's iron and steel scrap imports amounted to 266,324 mt in August this year, increasing 24.05 percent compared to July and up 35.39 percent year on year, according to the data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS). The value of these imports in August was $90.47 million, increasing by 27.61 percent month on month and up 26.65 year on year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in August amounted to 215,791 mt, increasing by 136.2 percent on year-on-year basis and up 28.82 percent compared to the previous month. In the month in question, the value of Pakistan's iron and steel imports was $144.45 million, increasing by 98.17 percent year on year and increasing by 28.35 percent month on month.
