Pacific Metals to restart Hachinohe nickel plant in June

Pacific Metals Co. plans to restart operations at its 44,000 mt annual capacity Hachinohe nickel plant in northeast Japan in mid-June this year, according to media reports. The facility was submerged by the devastating tsunami which followed the March 11 earthquake in Japan.

The company stated that shipments will start from July. Pacific Metals is owned by Japan's biggest stainless steel maker, Nippon Steel, and Sumikin Stainless Steel Corp.
