Russian steel and pipe producer OMK has announced that in March this year its new foundry and rolling facility produced 53,063 mt of hot rolled steel products, 9,873 mt of steel strips and 2,159 mt of steel sheets.
The main consumers of the products of the new foundry and rolling facility are OMK's subsidiaries Vyksa Steel Works and Almetyevsk Pipe Plant. In March the facility achieved its delivery targets, with shipments of rolled steel products to the plants in question amounting to 37,563 mt and 41,952 mt respectively.
According to the press release, in March OMK's foundry and rolling facility doubled its production data compared to February; daily output amounted to 3,200 mt, while deliveries for the first time exceeded 50,000 mt of steel products
OMK's April production targets for its new facility include the output of 70,344 mt of hot rolled products, 9,755 mt of steel sheets, and 12,550 mt of steel strips. In 2009, OMK plans to produce one million mt of rolled steel products at the new facility.
