OECD meets in May for subsidy ban discussions

Following the February meetings where important steps in the struggle against state subsidies believed to be harming the steel industry worldwide were taken, the next gatherings are scheduled to take place on May 13-14 2003 in OECD headquarters, Paris. The aim of this two-day gathering is to follow up the developments in line with the agreements reached in December 2002 in endeavours to reduce or eliminate the state subsidies. In these meetings to come in May, it is also aimed to start preparations of a draft text of a final agreement scheduled to be signed at the end of 2003.
