The government of eastern Indian state of Odisha is planning to construct two sea ports at Inchuri and Bahuda to add capacity in addition to three existing ports of Paradip, Gopalpur and Dhamra, a government official said on Wednesday, December 25.

The Odisha government is planning to sign and agreement with PSA, Singapore, a leading port group, in January to provide technical assistance in developing these two ports through public-private partnerships.

“We will adopt a transparent process of selecting private partners in developing these ports,” the official said.

He said that by 2030, Odisha plans to have port cargo handling capacity of 500 million mt per year, against 290 million mt per year capacity of the current three operational ports in the state.
