Nucor's bar division has announced it will not change prices for April shipments. Effective April 1, 2006, the Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) for shipments of rebars, merchant bars, and structural products will be $88 /nt ($97 /mt or $4.40 cwt), the same amount as the March RMS. Base prices will also remain the same, so there will be no change in the net price of rebars, merchant bars, or structural products. Nucor bases their RMS on the published shredded scrap index, which has not changed since last month.
