Nucor disappoints by dismantling of steel tariffs

US steelmaker Nucor Corporation expressed its disappointment with the Bush's decision to end S201 safeguard measures, but that was encouraged by his promise to work on with Congress to succeed a long term solution against illegal dumping and other unfair trade practices. The company also waits from the Bush administration to procure the dismantling of all safeguard measures that were applied by EU and World Trade Organization member countries. Nucor officials also stated that US steel industry's future depends on administration's eagerness to hold the world trade community responsible for its unfair and illegal trading practices. Moreover, the company relies on Bush to fulfill his commitment by investigating and resolving unfair practices.
