Nucor and US Steel lose dispute over steel duties

The US Supreme Court denied appeals from steelmakers Nucor Corporation and US Steel Corporation Monday alleging the new method used to calculate anti-dumping (AD) duties in the US did not address the problem of steel being sold in the US at less than its fair value stringently enough.

By rejecting the appeals, an earlier court ruling supporting the US Department of Commerce's formula to determine steel duty margins remains in place.
