Norway has filed a challenge to the US Section 232 import tariffs based on national security basis with the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Norway claims that tariffs imposed by the US on steel and aluminum imports are a violation of the WTO regulations. Ine Eriksen Soereide, Minister of Foreign Affairs for Norway, stated that a dispute settlement consultation with the US through the WTO was requested.
