As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the total price-adjusted value of orders received by building construction and civil and underground engineering enterprises in Germany increased by 6.1 percent in July this year from the same month of the previous year.
In July, building construction demand increased by one percent, while demand in civil and underground engineering was up by 11 percent, both on year-on-year basis. The total turnover in building construction amounted in July 2011 to around €8.4 billion increasing around 1.9 percent compared to July 2010.
Meanwhile, in the first seven months of 2011 the total price-adjusted value of orders in the construction industry increased by 4.5 percent over the corresponding period last year. During the January-July period of 2011 the total turnover of the construction industry amounted to approximately €46.6 billion, with an increase of 12.6 percent over the level of the first seven months of 2010.
