NDRC: China achieves steel capacity reduction target for 2016

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has stated at a press conference that as of the end of October this year China has eliminated 45 million mt of steel capacity, achieving its steel capacity reduction target for 2016. “The coal capacity reduction target of cutting 250 million mt for the current year is expected to be achieved ahead of schedule,” the NDRC said.
