NBS: China’s crude steel output rises by 9.9 percent in Q1

In the January-March period this year, China produced 194.9 million mt of pig iron, up 9.3 percent year on year, while also producing 231.07 million mt of crude steel and 269.07 million mt of finished steel, rising by 9.9 percent and 10.8 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on April 17. 

In March alone, China produced 66.15 million mt of pig iron, up 7.6 percent year on year, while also producing 80.33 million mt of crude steel and 97.87 million mt of finished steel, increasing by 10.0 percent and 11.4 percent year on year, respectively.
