Providence, Rhode Island-based NanoSteel , a leader in nano-structured steel materials design, announced Wednesday that Craig Parsons has joined the company as president of the automotive business. Based in the company's new metro Detroit office, he will lead NanoSteel's automotive initiatives and drive adoption of the company's new Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) sheet across the industry. Parsons, with more than 20 years of experience in global supply chain solutions, manufacturing processes and new product development, is an expert in automotive parts and production. Through executive leadership roles at Gestamp and Noble International, Parsons has brought leading light-weighting steel technologies such as laser welded blanks and tubes, roll-forming and hot-stamping to automotive OEMs.
"NanoSteel's three classes of cold formable AHSS provide powerful and versatile material choices for automakers," said Craig Parsons. "Given the company's recent sheet steel progress and the interest of numerous auto OEMs and Tier 1s such as GM, I look forward to working with our steel and automotive partners to leverage NanoSteel products across multiple platforms."
