MOC: Average finished steel price in China up 0.4 percent

On January 5, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (December 28-January 3) the overall average finished steel price in China increased by 0.4 percent week on week.

In the given week, average prices of cold rolled coil (CRC), common medium plate and rebar in China rose by 0.8 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.5 percent week on week, respectively.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China rose by 0.8 percent compared to the previous week. The average price of nickel (Ni> = 99.2%) remained stable compared to the previous week.

In addition, in the week in question, the average price of coal in China remained stable week on week. In particular, the average price of thermal coal increased by 0.2 percent, while the average prices of anthracite coal and coking coal decreased by 0.4 percent and 0.2 percent week on week, respectively.
