MOC: Average finished steel price in China down 0.7 percent

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (December 31, 2018-January 6, 2019) the overall average finished steel price in China edged down by 0.7 percent week on week.  

In the given week, average prices of rebar, high-speed wire rod and hot rolled steel strip in China decreased by 0.8 percent, 0.7 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively, week on week.  

In the week in question, the average price of coal in China edged down by 0.1 percent week on week. In particular, the price of coking coal remained stable, while the prices of thermal coal and anthracite coal declined by 0.2 percent and moved up by 0.1 percent, respectively, week on week.

In the same week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China softened by 1.9 percent week on week.
