Moldavian Metallurgical Plant (MMZ) has issued its production data for the first half of 2008.
During the period in question, MMZ recorded a nine percent increase year on year in its crude steel production to 492,082 mt, of which 69,163 mt consisted of special grade steel products.
In the first six months of 2008, MMZ produced 454,231 mt of rolled steel products, exceeding its production target for the months in question by 4,212 mt.
The mill's H1 sales amounted to 454,058 mt of steel products, of which 109,924 mt consisted of special grade steel products. Sales to CIS countries amounted to 219,711 mt, reaching 234,347 mt for non-CIS countries. Moreover, during the period in question MMZ exported 16,192 mt of commercial billet.
