MMK posts record monthly sinter output

The Russian steel producer Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that it has reached a record in its monthly output of sinter, exceeding the level of one million mt.

Accordingly, in May this year MMK produced 1,001,657 mt of sinter, with the operation of three sintering plants. The company last reached a monthly sinter output level of one million mt in 1988, at a time when it was operating four sintering plants.

Since the commissioning of its first sintering plant in 1937, MMK has produced 625 million mt of sinter.
