Australia-based mining company Mineral Deposits Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with France-based mining and metallurgical company Eramet S.A. to set up a new joint venture.

The new venture will take over Mineral Deposits' Senegal-based Grande Cote Mineral Sands project and Eramet's Norway-based Tyssedal mill, thus creating a new major player in the mineral sands (i.e., titanium dioxide and zircon) industry.
