Australian nickel miner Mincor Resources announced on January 11 that has acquired a substantial package of tenements from Jupiter Mines for a total cost of $200,000, to increase its land holding in the Kambalda nickel district in Western Australia.

The acquisition adds 56.4 square kilometers to Mincor's landholdings in the southern part of Widgiemooltha Dome. The new tenements contain approximately 12 kilometers of the strike of the basal contact, containing over 170,000 metric tons of nickel metal in mined and unmined mineral resources.

Mincor has been in production for nearly 11 years in the Kambalda nickel district and has produced more than 135,000 metric tons of nickel-in-ore.
