Mexico’s steel production expected to increase

Canacero, Mexico's chamber of iron and steel producers, disclosed that the country's steel production will increase around 7% to 17.9 million tons in 2005. Canacero indicated that the Mexican steel industry, which produced almost 2 million tons of steel in March, will continue its good run this year. Meanwhile, US steel production is expected to show a slight increase of 3% during 2005.
