Mexico ups steel exports to US

Mexico saw a $650 million surplus in its iron and steel trade with the US in 2004, according to recent reports. Mexico's iron and steel trade with the US in 2003 ended with a deficit of $111 million. Mexico's iron and steel exports to the US totaled $2.2 billion in 2004, making Mexico the third largest exporter of iron and steel to the US after Canada and Brazil. Semi-finished steel and iron and laminated flat products contributed to the increase in exports in 2004.
