The Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) expects that its January iron ore concentrate shipments to China will amount to about 600,000 mt.

In January, Metinvest has already dispatched to China the ship Leonidas Warrior with 183,316 mt of concentrate and the ship Sealink with 177,754 mt of concentrate, both capesize-class ships.

In addition, before the end of January, Metinvest is also to dispatch to China another capesize-class ship Diamond Warrior with 197,910 mt of iron ore concentrate.

In December 2009, Metinvest shipped to 599,000 mt of iron ore concentrate to China.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in late November 2009 Metinvest commenced deliveries of iron ore for export with capsize bulk freights of 175,000-400,000 mt deadweight.
