Masteel increases flats prices for Jan 2007

SteelOrbis Shanghai On December 20, 2006, the southeastern Anhui Province-based Maanshan Iron and Steel Co. Ltd (Masteel) announced increased ex-factory prices for January 2007 for a number of its flat products. The ex-factory price of HRC has been increased by RMB 59/mt ($8/mt). After this adjustment, the new price of 2.75 mm thick Q235 HRC is RMB 4,037/mt ($517/mt), while that of 5.5 mm thick Q235 HRC is RMB 3,838/mt ($491/mt). The ex-factory price of CRC sees an increase of RMB 211/mt ($27/mt). With the adjustment, the new price of 1.0 mm thick SPCC grade CRC rises to RMB 4,844/mt ($620/mt). Meanwhile, the ex-factory price of HDG increases RMB 117/mt ($15/mt), with the new price of 1.0 mm thick SGCC HDG at RMB 5,417/mt ($694/mt). Finally, the ex-factory price of color coated coil has increased RMB 94/mt ($12/mt). Thus, the new price of 0.5 mm thick TSGCC color coated coil is RMB 6,926/mt ($887/mt). All the above prices include 17 percent VAT.
