Makeevsk ups Jan-Oct 2006 output

The Ukrainian steelmaker, Makeevsk Metallurgical Plant (Makeevsk), during the January-October 2006 period registered a 58 percent increase in pig iron production, a 57 percent increase in crude steel production, and a 42 percent increase in finished steel output (including an 82 percent increase in wire rod production), as compared to the same period of 2005. In October alone, Makeevsk produced 113,300 metric tons of pig iron, 135,000 metric tons of crude steel and more than 105,000 metric tons of finished steel products.
