Maanshan Steel outlines 2009 blueprint

East China's Anhui Province-based Maanshan Steel Group has recently set up targets for 2009 as follows: to produce 3.07 million mt of finished ores, 13.78 million mt of pig irons, 15 million mt of crude steels and 14.18 million mt of finished steel products in total; to achievea 1.6 million mt of newly developed products; to realize above 65 percent of electric power self sufficiency; to reduce the metallic material consumption in steel making to 1.116t per mt; to reach 96 percent of finished products rate.

During the upcoming new year, The company will focus on the research and development of some insufficient high value-added steel products such as steels for MU train wheel, high strength steel, sheets for auto production and for high end household appliance. Furthermore, the company aims to form batch production capacity to bring in more benefits in the follow year.
