Lianyuan Steel begins trial run of CR project

Lianyuan Steel carried out on Sunday (October 16) a trial run of its cold rolled sheet project. Lianyuan's RMB 2.75 billion ($339 million) project, which includes cold rolled sheet and pickling, is one of the ten key projects in Hunan Province. The production line will produce chilled pickling sheet, which is widely used in top grade household sheet and construction sheet. Work on the 1.5 million-ton annual capacity project began on Feb 23, 2004, and took twenty months to complete, the fastest time to date for such a project. Similar projects took 25 months or more to complete in the past. It was reported that CR products used to make hot zinc-galvanized wire and annealed wire will be put into production before the end of the year. SteelOrbis Shanghai
