Kumba: South African iron ore output to double by 2020

South Africa's largest iron ore producer Kumba Iron Ore has stated that iron ore output in South Africa will likely double by 2020.
 
According to Kumba, South Africa's iron ore output is expected to rise from 48-50 million mt to 120-124 million mt in 2020. In addition, the annual iron ore output of Kumba, which accounts for around 75 percent of total South African iron ore output, is thought likely to rise from 41 million mt in 2010 to 70-73 million mt in 2020. Meanwhile, the annual iron ore production of domestic miner Assmang is expected to increase to 20 million mt by 2020, while another 25 million mt of annual iron ore output is expected to be accounted for by new miners.
