Khouzestan Steel posts 27 percent monthly increase in crude steel output

Iranian semi-finished steel producer Khouzestan Steel has announced a 27 percent  increase in its crude steel production, rising to 236,000 mt, in the last month of the Iranian calendar (December 21, 2008 - January 19, 2009) compared with the corresponding month of last year. Khouzestan Steel had recorded increases of 16 percent and  23 percent in the previous two months of the Iranian calendar, compared to the corresponding months of the previous year.

Having a current annual capacity of 2.4 million mt of crude steel, Khouzestan Steel is planning to up its capacity to 3.2 million mt per year in line with its development plans for the next Iranian year.
