Kazakhstan increases steel production in H1 2011

According to the State Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, in January-June of the current year the country produced 2.495 million mt of steel, up 23.3 percent year on year.


Production of steel coils increased by 20.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2010, rising to 1.654 million mt.


In the first six months of 2011, Kazakhstan increased its ferroalloy production by 0.2 percent year on year to 842,329 mt.
