Kazakhstan announces new investment projects in mining, metallurgical industry in 2015-2017

Kazakhstan plans to implement over 30 investment projects in mining and metallurgical industry in 2015-2017, as was announced by Kazakh Deputy Minister for Investment and Development Yerzhan Sagadiyev.

"We plan to implement 31 investment projects worth KZT 1.3 trillion ($7.11 billion) in mining and metallurgical industry until 2018," he said.

The share of mining and metallurgical industry in Kazakhstan's GDP stands at about 12 percent.

Mining and metallurgy is one of the leading industries of the Kazakh economy, the share of which in the total industrial output is 18 percent. It employs over 300,000 people.
