Kardemir to produce billets in bigger size

Turkish integrated long steel producer Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (Kardemir) has announced that it will modify its billet caster No. SDM1 to increase its billets size to 150 mm x 150 mm from 130 mm x 130 mm in order to effectively meet both its own billet needs and billet orders from customers. 
 
Kardemir stated that, with the production of 150 mm x 150 mm billets, it also aims to increase its steel production capacity. The 150 mm x 150 mm billets will be produced as of July 1, 2017.
