JSW Steel crude steel output ups 33 percent in May 2009

JSW Steel, one of India's largest steelmakers, has reported that in May 2009 its crude steel production increased by 33 percent year on year to 459,000 mt due to the increase of the production from 2.8 million mt per year new expansion project at Vijayanagar Works.

In May 2009, JSW's flat products output saw an increase of 20 percent to 307,000 mt, while its production of long products went up by 106 percent to 65,000 mt, both compared to the corresponding month of last year.
