JSW Energy commissions 300 MW power unit in Maharashtra

Indian JSW Group energy producing subsidiary JSW Energy Ltd has successfully commissioned the second 300 MW unit in its four piece power project with a total capacity of 1,200 MW at Jaigad in Ratnagiri in the Indian state of Maharashtra on December 30, 2010.

Pursuant to commissioning, the total aggregate operating capacity at Ratnagiri, Maharashtra has reached 600 MW, as the company targets to commission the remaining two units in the current fiscal year.

Commenting on the development, JSW Energy Vice Chairman NK Jain said, "This is yet another step by JSW Energy towards reducing the power deficit in the state of Maharashtra and we are on schedule to achieve our stated generation capacities."
